A must-have item to study in Korea!

A must-have item to study in Korea! : If you are planning to study in Korea, you must have started to think about the necessary items. Here, I would like to share my personal experience and advice to help you plan and prepare for your study abroad more smoothly. Proper preparation during the period of studying in Korea will provide a more comfortable, safe and enjoyable study abroad.

The first thing we need is our visa and passport. Because when I first came to Korea and didn’t get my alien registration card, my passport is our identity symbol.Everyone should take care of their passports so that they don’t lose them.

You should also carry a domestic ID card with you. Because sometimes you need an ID card when you apply for work at an overseas embassy or consulate.

Then let me tell you in detail what daily necessities I think I should carry around!

A must-have item to study in Korea!

  1. Conversion Plug: Conversion Plugs can be purchased locally in Korea, but if you are new to Korea, it is recommended that you purchase them in Korea considering that you are not familiar with Korean shopping or that your Korean language skills have improved. The domestic conversion plug is cheaper than Korea.
  2. Medicine: To buy medicine in Korea, you go to the hospital for a checkup, the doctor issues a prescription, and we take the prescription and buy it directly from the pharmacy. However, most painkillers can be purchased at Korean franchise convenience stores.I think it would be better to buy other medicines in Korea and bring them to Korea. If you do this, your Korean is not good, so you don’t have to worry about communication at the hospital.
  3. Korean Books: If you are a friend who is not good at Korean, I recommend that you purchase Korean-related books in Korea again. This is because Korean books are sold twice or three times more expensive than in Korea due to copyright fees.
  4. Mobile phones: Some software, such as Huawei, cannot be downloaded in Korea. For whatever reason, it is recommended that you carry an iPhone or a Samsung cell phone.Of course, you can live your daily life in Korea with Huawei phones, but it may be limited in some areas.
  5. Cash: I recommend you to go to the bank and exchange it for Korean money before leaving the country because there may be friends who are not very good at Korean. Then you won’t be embarrassed because you don’t have Korean money when you come to Korea.Of course, if you bring a card with the UnionPay logo, you can exchange the real-time exchange rate at the Korean ATM.

You don’t need to buy other household items in Korea because you can buy them all when you come to Korea. This is not only tiring but also meaningless.

I recommend you to buy household goods: Daiso

The goods here are comparable to our domestic 5¥ store, and they are all relatively profitable. And many products are made in China, so they are relatively friendly to use.

A Korean household goods store run by Aseong Daiso.
As a general store, there are a wide variety of products such as stationery, toys, tools, bathrooms, makeup, hobbies, interior, plant supplies, and pet products. It’s all in Daiso, but not all products come into the store, and there may be differences depending on the size and timing of each store.
They sell cheap things at a low price. Features affordable price with moderate quality. Many products cost 1,000 won. To be exact, it was set at 500 won, 1,000 won, 1,500 won, 2,000 won, 3,000 won, and 5,000 won. As of 2022, the maximum price remains at 5,000 won. In other words, you can buy anything in Daiso within 5,000 won. However, paper bags containing products are charged KRW 100 or KRW 200 according to the Environmental Protection Act. If possible, let’s just carry it with our hands or bring a shopping basket. Shopping carts are also sold for 500 won and 1,000 won.
As the company grew in size, the lineup diversified from selling household goods to food, cosmetics, stationery, fancy, tools, storage supplies, kitchen utensils, hobbies, vehicle products, and electronics.

Do you know about four major insurances policies in Korea?

Have you ever heard of the word "four major insurances"?If you've watched news and TV a lot while living in Korea, you've probably heard it at least once. But what's the big four insurance policies? Does it matter to foreigners?I'll tell you more about the four major insurances today. What are the four major insurances? Korea's four major insurances refer to all four insurances directly managed by the government to ensure a stable economic life for the people from social risks. In Korea, people with income, companies, and institutions are required to pay four major insurances! It's a mandatory subscription insurance that all workers must sign up for, regardless of whether they are interns, non-regular workers, or regular workers!Foreigners also have to pay four major insurances if they work for a Korean company! When you look at job postings on recruitment sites, there are often the same conditions as "four major insurances included." Some companies offer four major insurances instead, or some companies have such conditions, such as 50%. What are the four major insurances? The four major insurances include national pension, national health insurance, employment insurance, and industrial accident compensation insurance. In the case of international students, if they live in Korea for more than six months, they are obligated to pay national health insurance every month. If you get a job in Korea, you have to pay the national pension, employment insurance, and industrial accident compensation insurance in addition to the national health insurance. Then what kind of benefits do you think each insurance provides? The four major insurances don't usually get any benefits right away, but they can get benefits depending on the conditions of the insurance the national pension The National Pension Service pays 4.5% of its monthly salary as an insurance premium almost every year. The national pension, which is later paid for retirement, is a system created in preparation for not being able to work if a worker retires after a certain age. In other words, when you retire later, you have the amount you can get every month, and that amount will be returned to the National Pension Service we paid for! employment insurance It is a system created for...
