A summary of korean scholarships that you must not miss studying in Korea I’ll introduce you to a scholarship that you can’t miss today^^ There are many kinds of scholarships given to foreigners in Korea, so don’t miss it and try it!

A summary of korean scholarships

1️⃣ Outstanding Scholarship in School

  • The first is the scholarship for foreigners in the school. This scholarship is selected every semester, and you can get it if you study hard. In the case of Kyungpook National University, if your grades last semester are in the top 7% of college students, you can receive tuition exemption (about 80% exemption).
  • So I have to study really hard during the semester. Isn’t it great to get good grades and get scholarships?

2️⃣ TOPIK Scholarship

You can get a Topic Scholarship if you get a higher grade than the topic grade you got before entering school! In the case of Kyungpook National University, if you are in level 3 before entering the school, you can get 500,000 won if you get level 4 after entering the school. I heard that other universities also have topic scholarships. Everyone, let’s actively look into it

Topic seems to be very important to our foreigners, so the higher the grade, the better!

3️⃣ GKS Foreigners Excellent Charity Scholarship

GKS Foreign Outstanding Charity Scholarship is a scholarship for foreign students with good grades in Korean information!

The benefit is 5 million won. (500,000 won per month)

Eligibility for application is a foreign self-funded international student who is attending an undergraduate course and has completed more than two semesters. And the average score is more than 80 out of 100 during the entire enrollment period, and the Korean proficiency test is level 4 or higher.

And you have to submit a letter of self-introduction and an academic plan together. The contents of the self-introduction letter and academic plan will be good to include application motivation, academic passion, major-related expertise and academic plan, and contribution to bilateral relations.

The notice usually comes out in February every year. If you want to apply, check out the notice in February~

It is a program that supports the establishment of a good job in Korea through employment after graduation by discovering excellent talents among foreign students in Korea early and fostering them as global talents.

Eligibility for application is foreign college and graduate students currently attending Korean universities, and students who can communicate in Korean or English.

The support benefit is 500,000 won per month during the semester.

It also provides an opportunity to experience work during vacation. It also provides job classes, employment and recommendation opportunities.

❗ This scholarship does not take grades and Korean proficiency tests. So my grades and topics aren’t that high, so try applying!

5️⃣ Work scholarship

A work scholarship is a scholarship that a student receives in return for working at a school or related institution. It is paid in return for work, so you can receive benefits regardless of whether you receive other scholarships.

Various activities are opened in the school, so you can actively participate and receive scholarships.
Last year, I was selected as a foreign undergraduate transfer tutor for the second semester of 2022 organized by Kyungpook National University’s International Exchange Office and helped two freshmen in our department settle down in Korea.

Points to note for working scholarship students
First of all, if you have pre-education at the university, be sure to attend. Here, education is conducted on procedures to be done before entering the work book, timetable input, and cyber orientation. You have to complete all of these before you can enter your actual online attendance book. If you miss the deadline for entering the online work book (within one day) because you don’t do this, you may experience an unprecedented situation in which you can’t get paid for working even after working.
In addition, the online attendance book is required to be entered within 12 p.m. on the working day, and if this period is exceeded, the student’s right to enter the online attendance book will disappear forever. Of course, the person in charge of each workplace has the right to enter the commuting register, but some universities adhere to “absolutely not to enter” as a guideline, so please enter it within three days.
After selection, the timetable for the semester is required to be entered on the website of the Korea Scholarship Foundation. Unless you are a disabled student helper, you cannot enter the work book during the time when the timetable is entered, so it is against the regulations to work just because a temporary vacancy occurs due to the cancellation of classes. In general, universities are allowed to enter the timetable until the course correction period or cancellation period, and after that, they must separately request the university manager.

I’ve introduced you to many scholarships(A summary of korean scholarships ) so far!
Everyone, apply actively and get a scholarship~😊

Do you know about four major insurances policies in Korea?

Have you ever heard of the word "four major insurances"?If you've watched news and TV a lot while living in Korea, you've probably heard it at least once. But what's the big four insurance policies? Does it matter to foreigners?I'll tell you more about the four major insurances today. What are the four major insurances? Korea's four major insurances refer to all four insurances directly managed by the government to ensure a stable economic life for the people from social risks. In Korea, people with income, companies, and institutions are required to pay four major insurances! It's a mandatory subscription insurance that all workers must sign up for, regardless of whether they are interns, non-regular workers, or regular workers!Foreigners also have to pay four major insurances if they work for a Korean company! When you look at job postings on recruitment sites, there are often the same conditions as "four major insurances included." Some companies offer four major insurances instead, or some companies have such conditions, such as 50%. What are the four major insurances? The four major insurances include national pension, national health insurance, employment insurance, and industrial accident compensation insurance. In the case of international students, if they live in Korea for more than six months, they are obligated to pay national health insurance every month. If you get a job in Korea, you have to pay the national pension, employment insurance, and industrial accident compensation insurance in addition to the national health insurance. Then what kind of benefits do you think each insurance provides? The four major insurances don't usually get any benefits right away, but they can get benefits depending on the conditions of the insurance the national pension The National Pension Service pays 4.5% of its monthly salary as an insurance premium almost every year. The national pension, which is later paid for retirement, is a system created in preparation for not being able to work if a worker retires after a certain age. In other words, when you retire later, you have the amount you can get every month, and that amount will be returned to the National Pension Service we paid for! employment insurance It is a system created for...
