an easy-to-find site for thesis materials in korea. I have to read a lot of papers when I’m graduating or looking for a presentation. Although you can search for materials on the school library website. Sometimes I can’t find academic papers/journalies in foreign countries. So I’m going to share some easy-to-find site for thesis materials with you.
RISS
The Korea Educational Research and Information Service (KERIS) opened in 1998 to enhance the efficiency of research activities, improve the competitiveness of higher education, and strengthen the competitiveness of national research
Based on a system of joint use of academic information involving 100% of four-year universities across the country, it provides open services so that universities can use all academic resources produced/held/subscribed in common.
It’s also free open access, but this means it’s open for free, and it never means it can be distributed and used for free. Once the contents of the paper are spread, whether for profit or non-profit, it can be a legal punishment for copyright infringement. This is because the thesis is a literary work under the Copyright Act and is protected by the Copyright Act. Posting a link address to the site where the papers have been published, a considerable amount of thesis content, and a summary containing core content can be punished as a copyright infringement. All open-access papers in Riss are managed by the Korea Educational Information Service in consultation with scholars. In addition, the opinions of scholars with copyright on the free release of academic papers are divided, and there is still a lot of controversy, so scholars who value copyright can eat the savory taste at any time. Usually, it was possible to search for a fee in libraries, but open access such as Korea Academic Information (Kiss), DBpia, National Library of Korea, Naver, and Google Academic Information is protected the same copyright.
– You can search for a variety of popular academic papers
– Multilingual input makes it easy to find your own academic papers and materials
– It’s connected to each university library, so if you log in to the school library, you can connect the RISS as well

KCI Korean Journal Citation Index
A system that analyzes the citation relationship between papers by DBing information, thesis information, and references in Korean domestic journals. It provides various information on domestic academic journals and published papers selected through the evaluation of academic journals by the Korea Research Foundation.
It is an index created by the Korean government for domestic journals due to the strong tendency to rely on SCI (SCIE) when considering the performance of domestic universities and government projects.
It provides bibliographic information, citation information, original information, and citation analysis information on published papers as well as the management of lists of excellent registered, registered, and registered candidate sites selected through academic journal evaluation.
– You can check the high-quality academic papers registered through the Korean Society
– Most of them are Korean papers

DBpia
Korea’s largest academic database brand operated by Nuri Media.
Starting with the development of CD-ROM, the Korean Literature Journal, in October 1998, academic DB started with 24 publications on the web under the name of “Bookrail for Web” in June 1999. In May 2000, it launched an online academic information service under the brand name DBpia.
As it is currently the No. 1 thesis site in Korea, it tends to introduce many new attempts and services. It supports services necessary for data investigation such as “customized recommendation thesis” that recommends customized papers based on users, bibliographic management program “Naeseojae”, and Chrome Extension. Among the thesis sites, reorganization is the most frequent, and events are held almost every month. Perhaps because it proves popular, it is mainly brought from DBpia, especially when a thesis is cited in the lower grades of Korean high schools and departments.
It is available on the web/mobile.
Basically, it is a paid service, but most materials are available free of charge if they belong to a subscription agency. If you sign up as a member on the website and certify that you are a member of the affiliated agency (institution certification), you will be able to do so. After accessing the school library website and logging in, you can access the DBpia link provided on the website.
Individual members who are not affiliated with the institution can buy and view each paper for approximately KRW 6,000.However, the “best thesis,” “all knowledge of the world,” and “three-minute thesis” exposed on the main screen are available free of charge to members. It seems to be updated on a weekly basis.
– It’s connected to most of the school libraries
– It’s easy to find papers in the field you want with subject classification
– When you don’t want to read a long paper, you can grasp the knowledge you want through various channels such as <Diverse News> <3 Minute Paper>
