3️⃣ KOICA Scholarship 💜

The Graduate School of Korean Studies is a research-oriented graduate school in the field of humanities and social sciences related to Korean studies, and graduates play an important role in Korean studies education institutions and research institutes around the world in recognition of their academic excellence.
Currently, several students, including several foreign students from many countries, are developing their academic skills on the beautiful campus at the foot of Cheonggye Mountain to grow into the next generation of Korean scholars.
This year’s recruitment was closed last month, but interested friends can apply next year by checking their eligibility from now on.
What is KOICA?
A consigned quasi-governmental organization under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in charge of international development projects in the Republic of Korea. It is located at 825 Daewangpangyo-ro (Siheung-dong), Sujeong-gu, Seongnam-si, Gyeonggi-do. Immediately after its establishment, it was located in Daehak-ro, Jongno-gu, Seoul, but later moved.
The government building is being shared with the Sejong Research Institute, and what belongs to the state has been handed over to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as it was built with funds unfairly acquired as the “Ilhae Foundation” in the fifth construction. Later, KOICA, which was in Daehangno in accordance with the trend of relocating public institutions to the provinces, also decided to relocate, and the site of Daehangno was sold and moved here because the Ministry of Foreign Affairs owned a large and beautiful building. The old site of Daehak-ro was demolished and the Seoul National University Hospital Research Center was built. It is also being shared with the Seoul Archives of the National Archives.

What is POSCO?
a steelmaker of POSCO Group. It is a subsidiary of POSCO Holdings.
Background of POSCO Scholarship Foundation
Park Tae-joon, who founded POSCO, founded the Steel Scholarship Association, which was the foundation of the POSCO Cheongam Foundation, with 60 million won in January 1971. This is two years before the first day of iron production (July 3, 1973) when the factory was in operation, Cheongam founded the Scholarship Foundation even before commercial production of iron because it was so urgent to foster human resources in our society.
Early iron scholarships focused on community scholarship and fostering steel technical personnel. Based on the seasonal scholarship association, Cheongam established 14 kindergarten, elementary, middle, and high schools to train numerous talents. In 1986, he established Korea’s first research-oriented university, POSTECH, to foster it as a world-class university.
Since then, the Steel Scholarship Association has been expanded and reorganized into the POSCO Cheongam Foundation in August 2005 and has been carrying out systematic and extensive contribution activities.
The POSCO Cheongam Foundation seeks mutual exchange and co-prosperity among Asian countries through global scholarship, academic, and cultural projects. It will carry the global contribution task of contributing to the future of our society and the future of Asia as a “happy burden.”
Our insights will pursue a global dimension, but our compass will always point to a “social growing together” and a “social rich together.”
