Samsung Group in Korea : Samsung is a dream not only for Koreans, but also for foreigners, especially international students from Korea, right? It’s a famous group all over the world, right? When people think of Samsung, they think of cell phones, TVs, and laptops a lot, right? Did Samsung become such a big company by selling electronic products such as mobile phones and laptops? Let’s find out!

History of Samsung Group
Samsung Group started in March 1938 with the Samsung Chamber of Commerce established by its founder, Chairman Lee Byung-chul, in Daegu. Samsung Chamber of Commerce was established with a capital of 30,000 won at the time, and the main items handled at this time were Neunggeum, a special product of Daegu, and dried fish of the East Sea. Samsung Chamber of Commerce and Industry exported to China, Japan, Southeast Asia, etc., while in Korea, it developed a business to process and sell agricultural products in Yeongnam region. In 1948, the stage of the project was expanded from Yeongnam to the metropolitan area, and in November of the same year, Samsung C&T Corporation was established in Jongno 2-ga, Jongno-gu, Seoul. Since then, the trade industry has been revitalized in earnest, and in 1950, the business has flourished so much that it became the No. 1 domestic trade industry. In January 1951, the company changed its name to Samsung C&T Co., Ltd. to further revitalize its trade business.

groups, companies formed from Samsung Group in Korea
Other than Samsung Group and Samsung Electronics, which are currently in Korea, they were founded by Chairman Lee Byung-chul from the beginning, but they passed them on to their children, and now they are famous and big companies in Korea. CJ-Jailjedang, which is known by the most people, was also an affiliate of Samsung. The chairman of CJ Group is the grandson of Samsung Group founder Lee Byung-chul. Samsung also has an automobile company. Founded in 1995, due to accumulating deficits, Renault of France took over assets and liquidated them in 2000. And the famous Shinsegae belongs to Samsung, too! Other than that, JoongAng Ilbo is also a newspaper company founded by Lee Byung-chul on September 22, 1965.

Samsung’s main business is semiconductor business and bio business!
Samsung Group’s business divisions are largely divided into electronics (Samsung Electronics, Samsung Display, Samsung SDI, Samsung Electro-Mechanics, Samsung SDS), bio (Samsung Biologics), heavy industry (Samsung Heavy Industries, Samsung Engineering), construction (Samsung C&T Construction), finance (Samsung Fire, Samsung Card, Samsung Securities, Samsung Asset Management), and service (Samsung C&T Resort, Hotel Shilla). Contrary to what many people think, Samsung is famous for its semiconductor business, not a company that has grown from cell phone sales. Korea’s semiconductor exports have been the first in the world, and Samsung Electronics is the first among export companies. Besides semiconductors, bio is also Samsung Group’s main business.

TV
Samsung Electronics has been the undisputed No. 1 player in the global TV market for several years and is a hit maker that has been releasing best-selling products one after another. In 2009, Samsung Electronics sold 31 million flat-screen TVs, maintaining its top global market share for the fourth consecutive year. In early 2010, Samsung Electronics set a goal of selling a total of 39 million TVs, along with 10 million LED TVs, but again raised it by 28 percent to 50 million Samsung Electronics is creating a new market with LED TVs, which are called finger slim design revolution. LED TV, which was introduced for the first time in the world in March 2009, succeeded in creating a new market by selling 2.6 million units.Samsung Electronics has been continuing its “million seller” hit genealogy for five consecutive years by creating million-selling TV products such as LCD TVs in 2006 and LED TVs in 2009. In 2010, Samsung Electronics continued its succession by achieving ‘Sales of 1 million units’ of 3D TVs in August. Samsung Electronics’ global market share exceeded 20% for five consecutive years from 2009 to 2014.

Smart TV
One of the big features in the TV sector is the change from ‘watching TV’ to ‘enjoying TV’. Consumers who have previously watched TV passively want to choose more active and diverse content on their own. Understanding this demand, Samsung launched an Internet TV in 2007 to allow users to enjoy real-time Internet information while watching TV. It is also developing a so-called “smart LED TV” that can download applications. It led the market with ‘Power Infolink’ in 2008 and ‘Internet@TV’, which was renewed with widget features in 2009. In addition to existing Internet services such as news, weather, securities, UCC, and movies, users can download and use applications of Samsung Apps, the world’s first multi-device application store, with the launch of 3D TV in 2010. Samsung Apps plans to provide local content services specialized by country to consumers as paid premium services will be expanded to Europe next year, starting with Korea and the United States from the second half of 2010.

3D TV
Samsung Electronics is solidifying its market leadership by selling 1 million units of 3D TVs within six months of its launch. This is close to the global demand for 3D TVs predicted by market research institutes in early 2010. It is also developing 3D TVs that do not require glasses.Samsung Electronics has also released a 3D home theater (HT-C6950W) that allows users to enjoy 3D stereoscopic images and premium stereoscopic sound at the same time. Samsung Electronics says it has built a ‘3D total solution’ that encompasses not only 3D TVs but also 3D Blu-ray players, 3D contents, and 3D glasses and completed the 3D entertainment environment for the first time in the industry.Samsung Electronics plans to provide 3D content streaming to 3D TVs. Samsung Electronics’ 3D TV, which has its own online app store, allows users to download programs such as Hulu Plus and Napster directly to the TV’s hard drive. Samsung App Store will also add premium content that allows developers to actually make money from new app platforms. It also plans to provide 3D content through the App Store.

Do you know about four major insurances policies in Korea?

Have you ever heard of the word "four major insurances"?If you've watched news and TV a lot while living in Korea, you've probably heard it at least once. But what's the big four insurance policies? Does it matter to foreigners?I'll tell you more about the four major insurances today. What are the four major insurances? Korea's four major insurances refer to all four insurances directly managed by the government to ensure a stable economic life for the people from social risks. In Korea, people with income, companies, and institutions are required to pay four major insurances! It's a mandatory subscription insurance that all workers must sign up for, regardless of whether they are interns, non-regular workers, or regular workers!Foreigners also have to pay four major insurances if they work for a Korean company! When you look at job postings on recruitment sites, there are often the same conditions as "four major insurances included." Some companies offer four major insurances instead, or some companies have such conditions, such as 50%. What are the four major insurances? The four major insurances include national pension, national health insurance, employment insurance, and industrial accident compensation insurance. In the case of international students, if they live in Korea for more than six months, they are obligated to pay national health insurance every month. If you get a job in Korea, you have to pay the national pension, employment insurance, and industrial accident compensation insurance in addition to the national health insurance. Then what kind of benefits do you think each insurance provides? The four major insurances don't usually get any benefits right away, but they can get benefits depending on the conditions of the insurance the national pension The National Pension Service pays 4.5% of its monthly salary as an insurance premium almost every year. The national pension, which is later paid for retirement, is a system created in preparation for not being able to work if a worker retires after a certain age. In other words, when you retire later, you have the amount you can get every month, and that amount will be returned to the National Pension Service we paid for! employment insurance It is a system created for...
