Songdo International City korean : Have you been to Songdo International City, Incheon, a smart city? Last year, I analyzed the data of areas visited by many foreign tourists in Korea in school class, and I was curious because Songdo in Incheon came out first… Originally, I thought I would go to Seoul, Busan, and Jeju Island the most, but the name of the area I saw for the first time came out, so I was really curious about what it was there… So I looked it up on the Internet and went to Songdo, Incheon. First, let’s find out about Songdo, Incheon!

Songdo International City, a smart korean city : Songdo International City, the Incheon Free Economic Zone, is a free economic zone created by reclamation of the sea in Yeonsu-gu, Incheon, and is the world’s largest private city development project built with about 40 trillion won in private capital. Based on the international urban development of cities such as Shanghai, Singapore, and Dubai, which began in earnest in the 1990s, the city is being developed on reclaimed land 17 times that of Yeouido, Seoul, and 55 km2 larger than Bucheon, Gyeonggi Province.

The site has the shape of an artificial island connected to the land by a bridge with the unburied sea in between. The development of Songdo International Business District is being carried out by Gale International and POSCO E&C. The city’s master plan was designed by the New York office of Con Pederson Fox (KPF). The development, manpower, and development of infrastructure are mainly through private financing.

The area, home to 163,000 people in Ak, is seeing a growing number of tourists coming from outside of South Korea. It is also called the future city and is being reborn as an international city.

History of Songdo, Incheon
Let’s start with the history of Incheon Metropolitan City! On September 8, 1945, after World War II, the U.S. troops landed through Incheon. The Incheon Landing Operation on September 15, 1950 greatly changed the situation of the Korean War. The Republic of Korea, which had been on the defensive, was able to turn into an offensive and move north. Throughout the 60s and 70s, Incheon became the main import and export of the Seoul metropolitan area! As the industrial association progressed, Incheon Port continued to expand, and the role of Incheon Inner Port was distributed to the North Port, Yeonan Pier, and South Port! As a result, overseas Chinese in Incheon’s Chinatown, which was formed in front of the inner port, faced an economic downturn. Originally, Incheon was located in the southern part of Incheon Metropolitan City and the northern part of Siheung-si, Gyeonggi-do, and its center was in the southern part of Michuhol-gu (formerly Bunae-myeon, Incheon Dohobu), where Incheon Dohobu was located.

Songdo International City korean

Songdo used to have no land, and it’s a new city built by reclaiming mudflats! There is a record that in 1986, the city directly under the control of Incheon International Airport first envisioned the development of a new city as a background area of Incheon International Airport and reported the plan to President Roh Tae-woo, who visited Incheon in 1988. In 1991, the final plan was finalized. Looking at the old days of Songdo, which has just been developed, it is a city that has developed at an incredible speed!

NSIC, a consortium of POSCO E&C and Gale International, established the first and third zones centered on POSCO Tower-Songdo (305m, 68 stories above ground) and Songdo Convensia, the tallest building in Korea.

Songdo is a smart city!
Another name for the Incheon Free Economic Zone, Korea’s No. 1 free economic zone, is ‘Smart City’. Various new technologies such as 5G, big data, and AI are being introduced. Intelligent CCTV equipped with artificial intelligence (AI) is immediately located at the “Smart City Integrated Operation Center” in Songdo G Tower. It is a convenient city for road safety and convenience through traffic accidents and risk monitoring cameras installed in various places of fire surveillance artificial intelligence camera. And this is a city with a lot of startups

It’s a very interesting area, historically and technically, isn’t it? If you don’t go to Songdo, Incheon yet, go there. I’ll introduce where to go in Songdo in the next episode! >.<

Do you know about four major insurances policies in Korea?

Have you ever heard of the word "four major insurances"?If you've watched news and TV a lot while living in Korea, you've probably heard it at least once. But what's the big four insurance policies? Does it matter to foreigners?I'll tell you more about the four major insurances today. What are the four major insurances? Korea's four major insurances refer to all four insurances directly managed by the government to ensure a stable economic life for the people from social risks. In Korea, people with income, companies, and institutions are required to pay four major insurances! It's a mandatory subscription insurance that all workers must sign up for, regardless of whether they are interns, non-regular workers, or regular workers!Foreigners also have to pay four major insurances if they work for a Korean company! When you look at job postings on recruitment sites, there are often the same conditions as "four major insurances included." Some companies offer four major insurances instead, or some companies have such conditions, such as 50%. What are the four major insurances? The four major insurances include national pension, national health insurance, employment insurance, and industrial accident compensation insurance. In the case of international students, if they live in Korea for more than six months, they are obligated to pay national health insurance every month. If you get a job in Korea, you have to pay the national pension, employment insurance, and industrial accident compensation insurance in addition to the national health insurance. Then what kind of benefits do you think each insurance provides? The four major insurances don't usually get any benefits right away, but they can get benefits depending on the conditions of the insurance the national pension The National Pension Service pays 4.5% of its monthly salary as an insurance premium almost every year. The national pension, which is later paid for retirement, is a system created in preparation for not being able to work if a worker retires after a certain age. In other words, when you retire later, you have the amount you can get every month, and that amount will be returned to the National Pension Service we paid for! employment insurance It is a system created for...
